DentKey App Privacy Policy
This notice describes how Personal Data (defined below) and/or information about you may be used and disclosed and how you can obtain access to this information. Please review it carefully.
INTRODUCTION
---
We at Dent Blueprint LLC (“we”, “us”, “the Company”, or “DentKey”) value your privacy and are committed to keeping your personal data confidential. We use your data solely in the context of providing the DentKey mobile application (the “App”), including all relevant content and functionality associated with the App (collectively, the “Services”). DentKey is designed specifically for dentists and dental hygienists (“Users”) to securely track, organize, and manage professional licenses, certifications, and continuing education (“CE”) requirements. If you are reading this Privacy Policy, you are a “User”.
Privacy Policy Applicability
This Privacy Policy applies to personal data that DentKey collects or handles from Users of the DentKey Services (“Personal Data”). The term “Personal Data” includes any information that can be used on its own or with other information in combination to identify or contact one of our users.
We believe that privacy and transparency about the use of your Personal Data are of utmost importance. In this Privacy Policy, we provide you with detailed information about our collection, use, maintenance, and disclosure of your Personal Data. This Privacy Policy explains what kind of information we collect, when and how we might use your Personal Data, how we protect Personal Data and your rights regarding your Personal Data.
For additional information related to how we use and disclose your Personal Data, please contact our Privacy Officer at dentblueprint@gmail.com.
Note regarding third-party sites: Our Services may contain links to other sites that are not operated by DentKey. If you click a third-party link, you will be directed to that third party’s site. We strongly advise you to review every site you visit’s privacy policy(ies). DentKey has no control over and assumes no responsibility for the content, privacy policies, or practices of any third-party sites or services. This Privacy Policy does not apply to your use of or access to any third-party sites or services.
Agreement to Privacy Policy Terms
By accessing and/or using the Services, you are acknowledging that you have read and agree to the terms of this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, you must immediately cease using the Services.
Privacy Policy Updates
Please note that we occasionally update this Privacy Policy, and it is your responsibility to stay up to date with any amended versions. Any revisions to the Privacy Policy will be posted within the App or App Store listing. Any changes to this Privacy Policy will be effective immediately upon providing notice via the App and will apply to all Personal Data that we maintain, use, and disclose. If you continue to use the Services following such notice, you are agreeing to those changes.
Data Deletion
Because DentKey operates on a local-first, zero-server architecture, your stored Personal Data resides exclusively on your device rather than on our servers. You can delete your Personal Data at any time directly within the App or by uninstalling the DentKey App from your device, which permanently removes all locally stored database files and encryption keys.
If you have submitted a support request or bug report containing an optional email address and wish to request the deletion of any corresponding communication logs, you may send a request to dentblueprint@gmail.com with the following information:
Your email address; and
A statement that you are requesting communication data deletion.
Questions or Concerns
If you have any questions or concerns after reading this Privacy Policy, please do not hesitate to contact us at dentblueprint@gmail.com. We appreciate your feedback.
COLLECTION AND USE OF PERSONAL DATA
---
What Personal Data Does DentKey Collect?
We collect four types of information from our Users: (i) demographic data; (ii) credential data; (iii) support data and problem reports; and (iv) technology data. Each category of data is explained in depth below.
Demographic Data: When initializing the App, you enter your name and select your role (e.g., dentist or dental hygienist); this information is stored locally on your device. If you contact support, you may voluntarily provide your name or email address. The collection of this demographic data is primarily used to provide you with the Services.
Credential Data: You may input or scan professional credentials, licensure details, renewal dates, state license compliance notes, and CE completion certificates (which may display your name or professional license details). All credential-related Personal Data is stored and encrypted locally on your device and is never stored on our servers. If you download a CE record PDF to export to a licensing board, it will not be downloaded in an encrypted state. We collect this information to provide you with the Services.
Support Data and Problem Reports: If you choose to contact us for support, we collect technical information and user-entered notes. If you choose to tap “Send” on a bug report or a “certificate read error” report within the App, the submission is transmitted through our website host, Netlify. Netlify emails the report directly to us and maintains a secure administrative copy until we delete it. Reports collect technical details (the App version, device model, operating system, OCR reader status), your typed message, an optional email address, and, in the case of certificate reading reports, extracted text snippets from the scanned document (which may include a name or license number appearing on the certificate). Such information will be used for the purposes of troubleshooting, customer support, software updates, and improvement of the Services in accordance with this Privacy Policy.
Technology Data: On-device processing technology (such as Apple Vision OCR and on-device Apple Intelligence or pattern matching) operates locally on your hardware to read text off scanned document photos. DentKey does not utilize central server log files, web tracking beacons, or cross-site tracking tools to monitor your activity.
Native System Backups
Full database backup files and credential summary archives exported for your personal records or device transfers are encrypted using a custom password established and maintained by you.
Apple Calendar Integration
With your explicit permission, the App interacts with your native device calendar via iOS EventKit permissions to add renewal deadline reminders. The App presents the event wording on-screen for your review prior to creation and never includes your license numbers. Once added to your native device calendar, event behavior is governed exclusively by your personal iOS device and calendar settings.
How Will DentKey Use Your Personal Data?
DentKey processes your Personal Data based on legitimate business interests, the fulfillment of our Services to you, compliance with our legal obligations, and/or your consent. We will only use or disclose your Personal Data when it is legally mandated or where it is necessary to fulfill those purposes described in this Privacy Policy.
More specifically, DentKey utilizes your Personal Data for the following legitimate business purposes:
To provide the Services;
To fulfill our obligations to you under the DentKey Terms of Use;
To handle customer support and troubleshoot User-submitted bug reports;
To schedule and display renewal deadlines on your native calendar app via native iOS EventKit permissions when explicitly authorized by you;
To respond to lawful requests from public and government authorities, and to comply with applicable state/federal law, including cooperation with judicial proceedings and court orders;
To protect our rights, privacy, safety, or property, and/or that of you or others by providing proper notices, pursuing available legal remedies, and acting to limit our damages;
To enforce and ensure your compliance with our DentKey Terms of Use or the terms of any other applicable services agreement we have with you;
To manage and improve our operations and the Services, including the development of additional functionality;
To manage payment processing;
To keep our Services safe and secure;
To send you information about changes to our terms, conditions, and policies; and
To allow us to pursue available remedies or limit the damages that we may sustain.
Does DentKey Use Personal Data for Analytics?
DentKey does not use third-party services providers to monitor and analyze the use of the Services.
Where Is Personal Data Stored/Processed?
The Personal Data we collect or process through the Services is not stored on our servers. All Personal Data entered or scanned into the App (including demographic data and credential data) is stored and encrypted locally on a user’s device. Document scanning and processing occur entirely on your device without remote server transmission.
With Whom Does DentKey Share Personal Data?
Because your Personal Data stays on your device, DentKey does not sell, rent, or share your data. Limited information leaves the device only in the specific scenarios described below:
Business Partners and Vendors: Apple processes in-app purchase and subscription billing traffic via the iOS App Store. DentKey does not collect or store your payment card details.
Our Advisors: We may share support communications or operational records with legal, financial, or auditing advisors (collectively, “Advisors”) if necessary for legitimate business or compliance purposes.
Third Parties Upon Your Direction or Consent: If you choose to export a report or CE summary file, or sync renewal dates to your native calendar application, the App executes these actions locally at your direction.
Third Parties Pursuant to Business Transfers: In the event of a reorganization, merger, sale, joint venture, assignment, transfer, or other disposition of all or any portion of DentKey’s corporate entity, assets, or stock (including in connection with any bankruptcy or similar proceedings), operational assets (such as App code and support records) may be transferred.
Government and Law Enforcement Authorities: If required by law or legal process, we may disclose available non-credential/licensure records (such as support logs). Because we do not store your Personal Data on our servers, we cannot produce records we do not possess.
How Long Does DentKey Retain Personal Data?
DentKey does not store or retain User Personal Data on our servers. Personal Data stored locally within the App remains on your device until you modify it, clear app data, or uninstall the App. Support email records or bug reports voluntarily sent to us are retained only as long as necessary to resolve technical issues or comply with legal obligations.
What Happens to Personal Data Submitted by Minors?
DentKey does not knowingly collect Personal Data from individuals under the age of 18. Our Services are designed strictly for licensed dental professionals. If we learn that an individual under the age of 18 has submitted Personal Data to us, we will delete that information. If you believe an individual under the age of 18 has provided us with Personal Data, please contact us at dentblueprint@gmail.com
USER RIGHTS
---
What Rights Do Users Have Concerning Their Personal Data?
As a user of DentKey’s Services, you have certain rights relating to your Personal Data. These rights are subject to local data protection and privacy laws and may include the right to:
Access, review, or obtain a copy of your Personal Data;
Erase or delete your Personal Data;
Restrict or object to the processing of your Personal Data; and
Rectify inaccurate or incomplete Personal Data.
Because DentKey utilizes an on-device architecture, you retain direct, immediate control over your Personal Data. You can access, update, export, or delete your information at any time directly within the App on your device.
How Can Users Update, Correct, or Delete Personal Data?
You can edit or remove demographic information, license numbers, renewal dates, and CEs directly within the DentKey App. Deleting an entry inside the App removes it from your local encrypted database. Uninstalling the DentKey App permanently removes all local database files, cached documents, and stored records from your device. Any residual encryption key remnants that may persist in the iOS Keychain cannot be used to decrypt or recover any data because the underlying database files will no longer exist. To request the removal of any support emails or bug reports sent directly to us, email dentblueprint@gmail.com.
Because no server backup exists, lost Personal Data cannot be restored by DentKey if your device is wiped or lost.
PROTECTION OF PERSONAL DATA
---
Is Personal Data Secure?
DentKey prioritizes data security. Because Personal Data remains on your device, security relies on a combination of native iOS system security and robust localized encryption.
Standard device backups (via iCloud or computer) back up your local encrypted database files but exclude the device-only iOS Keychain encryption keys for security. Restoring a full iCloud or computer device backup onto a new device will restore the encrypted database files without the decryption key, rendering those restored files unreadable on the new device. To successfully transfer your readable credential database to a new mobile device, you must use DentKey’s native password-encrypted backup export feature.
DENTKEY CANNOT GUARANTEE OR WARRANT THAT YOUR PERSONAL DATA WILL NEVER BE ACCESSED, DISCLOSED, ALTERED, OR DESTROYED BY REASON OF OPERATING SYSTEM VULNERABILITIES, HARDWARE FAILURE, DEVICE THEFT, UNAUTHORIZED ACCESS TO YOUR DEVICE, OR BREACH OF ANY PHYSICAL, TECHNICAL, OR ADMINISTRATIVE SAFEGUARDS. WE CANNOT GUARANTEE THE SECURITY OR INTEGRITY OF DATA TRANSMITTED OVER THE INTERNET (SUCH AS VOLUNTARY BUG REPORTS OR APP STORE TRANSACTION TRAFFIC). ACCORDINGLY, WE DO NOT AND CANNOT ENSURE OR WARRANT THE ABSOLUTE SECURITY OF ANY DATA STORED WITHIN THE APP OR TRANSMITTED TO US. You assume the risk that unauthorized entry or use, hardware or software failure, and other factors may compromise the security of your personal data at any time.
What Safeguards Does DentKey Have in Place to Secure Personal Data?
Personal Data does not sit on our servers. Access to the App is secured via native iOS Face ID, Touch ID, or device passcode authentication. iOS performs this verification directly. DentKey does not see, collect, or store your biometric face/fingerprint data or passcode. Bug reports contain only device metrics, OCR status, and optional contact email.
How Can Users Protect Their Personal Data?
You are solely responsible for preventing unauthorized access to your device(s) by limiting access to your device(s). DentKey has no access to or control over your device’s security settings, and it is your responsibility to implement any device-level security features and protections you feel are appropriate (e.g., password protection, encryption, remote wipe capability). We recommend that you take all appropriate steps to secure any device that you use to access our Services.
Please note that DentKey will never send you an email requesting confidential information, such as account numbers, usernames, passwords, or Social Security Numbers. If you receive a suspicious email from DentKey, please notify us at dentblueprint@gmail.com.
What If DentKey Experiences a Data or Security Breach?
In the event of a security incident affecting DentKey systems, DentKey will: (i) investigate and remediate vulnerabilities; (ii) comply with applicable legal notification requirements; and (iii) notify affected Users as mandated by law. Because Personal Data is stored exclusively on your individual hardware, an incident involving DentKey will not expose the Personal Data on your locally encrypted device.
ADVERTISING, MARKETING, AND TRACKING
---
Does DentKey Send Marketing or Advertisement Materials?
We do not send marketing or advertising materials. We do not sell your Personal Data, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing.
Can Users Opt-Out of Receiving Communications from DentKey?
We may communicate with you via email solely to respond to user-initiated support requests or bug reports. Because we do not send marketing newsletters, there are no promotional opt-out categories.
What Is DentKey’s Cookie Policy?
Cookies are small text files stored on a web browser. DentKey is a native iOS mobile application and does not utilize cookies.
Do Not Track Disclosure
DentKey does not track Users over time or across third-party websites, nor do we run web analytics scripts. Therefore, the App does not alter its behavior in response to web browser Do Not Track (“DNT”) signals.
CALIFORNIA PRIVACY RIGHTS
---
If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act (“CCPA”) may grant you specific rights regarding personal customer information.
DentKey does not sell or share Personal Data with third parties for marketing purposes. Because your Personal Data is maintained locally on your device, you can exercise CCPA access and deletion rights directly by managing or deleting data within the App. For inquiries regarding support records, California residents may submit a request to:
Dent Blueprint LLC

ADDITIONAL STATE PRIVACY RIGHTS
---
Residents of states with comprehensive privacy statutes (including Connecticut, Nevada, and Washington) may have statutory rights regarding health or credential-related consumer data.
DentKey operates on a local-first model where Personal Data remains on the User’s device. As a result, DentKey does not maintain, sell, or commercialize central user databases. Users may exercise data rights (including access, correction, and deletion) directly within the App. For administrative questions regarding state privacy rights, please contact dentblueprint@gmail.com.
